A legacy born in the heart of Kutch, SM Bajaj Salt is one of India’s most respected names in Salt Manufacturing, Trading, and Export. Founded in 1955 by the visionary Mr. Sanwarmal Bajaj, our journey began as Savitri Salt Suppliers in Kolkata. Today, we stand tall as an ISO-certified, family-owned group serving industries, households, and global markets with pure, high-quality salt.
Our Legacy
From humble beginnings to becoming one of India’s most trusted salt manufacturers, our growth reflects our relentless pursuit of innovation and quality. Under the guidance of Mr. Bajaj, and now led by the second generation of leadership, we expanded into Tripura and Assam, setting up full-fledged production units and pioneering the production and processing of raw salt. Today, we proudly produce and trade 500,000+ tons of raw salt annually, including industrial salt, edible salt, and specialty salts such as pink salt and low-sodium salt.

Our Inception
Commenced salt trading under Savitri Salt Suppliers in Kolkata
1955
The Trading begins.. (Bajaj Trading Co.)
Expanded into the provinces of Guwahati & Assam under Bajaj Trading Co.
1968
Gandhidham Office
Moved into the Salt City of Gandhidham; launched multiple saltworks to cater the demand
1984
Tripura Trading Office
Catering to the entire North-East Indian market
New offices established in Agartala, the capital city of Tripura, Introduced iodized salt to North-East markets for the first time.
1988
Industry setups in new states
Salt iodization & crushing plants set up in Gujarat, and Tripura
1992 - 94
Entry into new markets with a New Face
Savitri Bajaj Cook Products Pvt. Ltd. established as an expansion into new processed food markets with networks set up across 8-10 states nationwide.

New Salt Farms in Kutch
Establishment of a new Saltworks in Kutch
Aim to maximize salt yield through contemporary methods

Milestone Achieved ( First of Many)
